The house is designed to accommodate the functions of a modern day family home in addition to the possibility of the applicant’s working full-time from the home. To reduce the scale of the house, the house design is broken down into a series of volumes. The two storey wing anchors the house in a north south direction from which two single storey volumes protrude to the east and west respectively.

The two storey volume consciously runs in a north to south direction to not block or disrupt the views and sun path from the applicant’s family home. To integrate the building within the landscape the two storey element steps with the contours and two internal steps are introduced into the kitchen affording the space a higher ceiling proportional to the size of the room.
